Here is the youtube tutorial that will teach you, except this tutorial doesn't always work with every flash because the motion tween doesn't work, so you will have to manually create the alpha percentages. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFw-1D8yaMs
For tutorial purposes please save a picture onto your desktop for fade use.
First import the picture into your stage and make it fit the screen.
Step 1.
Press the image of layer one and press f8 and make it a symbol.
Step 2.
Create a keyframe at 50 seconds, a keyframe at 10 & also at 40.
Step 3.
Press on the first keyframe in layer 1 and select your image.
Then on the side go to colour effect > Alpha > make it 0%
then slowly create keyframes as you approach 10 seconds with the alpha getting higher and higher. Step 4.
Do the same from 40 seconds onwards but backwards making it from 100% - 0% which is at 50 seconds.
Step 5.
Now loop it and there is your fade in and fade out.
